About

Museum Guild

The Lauren Rogers Museum of Art Guild of Docents & Volunteers is a volunteer organization created in 1971 to assist the Museum staff with various projects and activities.

Docents undergo special training to provide tours of the Museum to visitors and groups. Volunteers assist the staff in the Museum Shop, the administrative, registrar and library offices, as well as with public relations, education classes and visitor services.

What does it take to be a Guild member?

Being a Guild member takes enthusiasm, motivation and willingness to be actively involved in your community. If you choose to join the Guild, we ask that you:

  • Attend monthly meetings on the fourth Tuesday of every month (except July, August and December) at 10:00 a.m. in the LRMA Lower Level Lecture Hall
  • Contribute a minimum of 36 hours per year of volunteer services
  • Complete art education courses offered, free of charge, by the Museum
  • Become a Museum member (levels begin at $25 a year and go up to $5,000 a year)
  • Pay $20 annual dues to the Guild
