Exploring Drawing Techniques
Thursdays · September  5, 12, 19 and 26

Participants will work in black, white, color, and mixed media to learn more about the art of drawing. Whether creating imaginary scenes or recording sites from in and around the Museum, explore advanced concepts such as perspective and shading. Class suitable for both beginner and intermediate artists. All supplies provided.

Documentary Storytelling

Join professional photographers Jorge Delgado-Ureña, Christelle Enquist, and Micah Green of The Raw Society for a transformative photography workshop tailored for photographers of all levels. This immersive experience, inspired by the documentary storytelling approach of The Raw Society, will guide you through the art of capturing compelling narratives through your lens. The workshop will blend instructional sessions along with hands-on photography time, allowing you to put theory into practice. Throughout the day, you will receive personalized feedback and participate in review sessions to refine your skills and elevate your photographic storytelling. We will also venture out to photograph the vibrant scenes of downtown Laurel and the surrounding neighborhoods. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced photographer, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of visual narratives in a supportive and inspiring environment. Bring your camera and an open mind, and get ready to see the world through a new lens!

Adult Pottery: Throwing on the Wheel

Instructor: Byron Myrick
Join us for this 5-session class focusing on the art and technique of throwing on the wheel. Supplies are included and ceramic enthusiasts of all experience levels are welcome. Space is limited and registration is required.

One-Night Workshops: CERAMICS

In each of these workshops, participants will use various clay types and unique surface decoration techniques to create beautiful pieces of art for inside or outside their home. No previous ceramic experience necessary and all materials and tools provided.

Cell Phone Photography 101

Instructor: Chad Edwards
Whether looking to capture great landscape or portrait photos or simply hoping to learn helpful tips to begin observing your surroundings in unique and exciting ways, this class will teach participants how to dramatically improve their cell phone photographs. Local photographer Chad Edwards will spend time covering basic photography principles and camera components before leading the class on a photo walk of the neighborhood.
