artTALK | Chief Hatfield Woodworking
Join us as woodworker Chief Hatfield discusses his craft.
Robert "Chief" Hatfield is a native of Laurel, MS. Growing up in the Historic Downtown District, Chief has an appreciation for fine craftsmanship. He started his career in the hair and beauty industry in the mid-1970s. Chief began working with wood in late 2015. What began as a hobby quickly turned to a passion. Most of his work is done by hand after the initial dimensioning. For Hatfield, cutting joinery by hand is extremely gratifying. His vision for his woodworking journey is to simply gain skills and knowledge each day.
