  is featured in Memories & Inspiration. Born in Pine Bluff\, Arkansas\, Co
 le holds a B.S. from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff\, an M.A. in
  art education from the University of Illinois at Urbana\, and an M.F.A. f
 rom Northern Illinois University. Within the past 32 years\, he has earned
  31 grants\, 66 art awards\, and 51 teaching awards\, including 2025 Retir
 ed Art Educator of the Year by Georgia Art Educators and Most Notable Geor
 gian in 2023 by Georgia Trend Magazine. His artwork has appeared in over 5
 00 exhibitions worldwide and is in more than 4\,500 collections\, includin
 g the Smithsonian\, High Museum of Art\, and Yale University Art Gallery. 
 Cole has created over 47 public art pieces\, notably a 15-story mural for 
 the 1996 Olympic Games. His work has been featured in The Guardian\, The W
 ashington Post\, Sculpture Magazine\, and Forbes Magazine.\n\nCole will hi
 ghlight his life and work\, and he will speak about how he came to know Ke
 rry and Betty Davis. After the lecture\, he will be signing copies of a bo
 ok about his exhibition at The Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia title
