Gallery Talk

Noon – 1:00 p.m., Sanderson Gallery
Ellen Ellis Lee, a Laurel, Miss. native, will discuss and demonstrate her work. Lee is a visual artist who creates mixed media dolls and assemblages using sculptured textiles and clay. Music, nature, fashion, costumes, African art and tribal dress inspire each of her pieces.

Heritage Arts Festival

10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Front Lawn of LRMA 
Families are invited to enjoy the Heritage Arts Festival. This year’s festival theme will be Celebrating the Pine Belt. This free and family-friendly festival will feature hands-on art activities, demonstrations by Ellen Ellis Lee - this year's featured artist, live music by Delta blues-guitarist and singer Bill Abel, and free pizza.

Myrna Colley-Lee, collector of the works featured in Reflections: African American Life from the Myrna Colley-Lee Collection, will participate in an interview about the exhibition. Reflections celebrates the diversity of African American identity; a story of self, place and time, shaped and influenced by people and events of the past. Comprised of select works from the private collection of arts patron and advocate Myrna Colley-Lee, this exhibition includes such noted artists as Elizabeth Catlett, Romare Bearden, Gwen Knight, Betye Saar, James Van Der Zee, and Eudora Welty. 
Desserts and beverages are provided at this free event open to the public. Sponsored by West Quality Foods.
Very Special Arts

This year’s super-fun theme is Super Hero Spectacular – back by popular demand! Very Special Arts is for special education students of all ages. The Lauren Rogers Museum of Art, Junior Auxiliary of Laurel and Laurel Arts League sponsor this wonderful event. 
Museum Shop Holiday Open House

This year’s Holiday Open House will include book signings, artist showcases and incredible discounts on selected items! Featured artists include Rolland Golden, author of Life, Love, and Art in the French Quarter, and Robert Rogers, author of Jodie Mae and The Pinebelt Chicken War. Refreshments and free gift wrapping provided by the LRMA Guild.
